Barre City has begun a two-phase project to revise its Municipal Plan. The first phase will focus on engaging citizens in a public process to develop guiding principles and/or overall goals for the city. Additionally, the Planning Commission will be working to update five plan chapters - economic development, energy, preservation of resources and the environment, transportation, and utilities and facilities.
Upcoming Workshop
A public workshop on the plan will be held on Thursday, April 28, 6:30 p.m. at Alumni Hall. At the workshop, the commission will be discussing five topics:
- Doing business in Barre City
- Living in Barre City
- Getting around Barre City
- Barre City's Environment
- Strengthening Community in Barre City.
The group will explore the immediate challenges and issues the city faces in each of these areas, as well as the resources and strengths we can build on as the city works towards its future.
