Planning WorkshopThe Planning Commission hosted a planning workshop on February 10, Around 20 residents came out that evening to discuss how the town can best accommodate future growth while retaining the town's character and resources. Richmond is undertaking a major update to its zoning and subdivision regulations. In April 2009, the Selectboard adopted the changes made during Phase 1 of the update (legal/administrative changes and revisions to the flood hazard district), During Phase 2 of the project, the Planning Commission explored the development pattern being promoted by the regulations and alternatives that would better implement the goals of Richmond's Town Plan.In May 2009, a report describing options for the town to consider was completed. Work is now underway on presenting options to residents and drafting revised regulations.
